Short version: Deen Journey is an offline-first app. Your Quran progress, prayer records, memorization data, and settings are stored on your device. We do not sell your data, and we do not require an account to use the app.
The following data is created and stored locally on your device to make the app work. It stays on your device unless you choose to enable cloud backup or sync in a future version:
To calculate accurate prayer times and Qibla direction, the app may use your device location. This calculation happens on your device. We do not store or transmit your location to our servers.
With your permission, the app sends local notifications for prayer times and reminders. These are scheduled on your device. You can turn them off at any time in your device settings.
When you play Quran recitation audio, the app requests audio files from our content delivery network. These requests include standard technical information (such as your IP address and device type) that is required to deliver the file, and are not used to build a profile of you.
To find and fix problems, the app uses Sentry to report crashes and errors. When an error occurs, a report is sent that includes technical diagnostic information such as your device model, operating system version, app version, and details of the error. The app is configured not to attach personal identifiers to these reports. We use this information only to improve the stability of the app.

Deen Journey is suitable for a general audience and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Because your data lives on your device, you can remove it at any time by deleting the app. If cloud features are enabled in the future, you will be able to request deletion of any synced data.
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date above.
